This is my third time using Sakura while traveling in Japan. I will never use a different service, even if less expensive. This year they accidentally sent me a 6 day sim instead of a 15day Sim, which I was pissed about at first, but they let me know about the issue before I even picked up my SIM, and they sent a replacement SIM to my hotel literally same day. Amazing customer service. I am a life long customer every time I come to Japan

Great service while we lived in Japan and very easy to use the online portal in English. Had good experiences with the rental wifi when people visited as well. Great customer service too.

Sakura mobile wifi was delivered promptly. It worked perfectly everywhere I travelled in
Japan. Tokyo, Kyoto, Uji, Kamakura, Shizuoka. Return was easy also. And the price was affordable. I will use them again in my next trip to Japan.

I used the pocket wifi for a week long and it was perfect. Battery lasted for at least a full day. The bag also provides a charger.
Pickup and returning was easy as well. For returning, they provided an envelope. I was able to find a little mail box to drop off at the airport before departure.
Will be using this service again.

Really good experience with data and SIM plan. I stayed in Japan for 6 weeks and never had problems with reception anywhere! Moreover, the customer support was extremely quick when I had a problem setting ups the eSim (which was totally my own fault). The prices are also really fair, even though you could get it cheaper somewhere else.

I'd like to share my exceptional experience with Sakura Mobile during my recent trip to Japan. Their customer service was extremely impressive, so much so that I am taking the time to write this rare review.
Before my trip, I began looking for alternatives to the usual hotspot rental I get while overseas. I came across Sakura Mobile, as well as a competing service, from searches and Reddit posts. Since I was looking for semi-long term data and voice & data e-SIMs, I had several questions about their eSIM plans. Their customer service team was responsive and knowledgeable and responded promptly, clearly explaining their plans and what would best work for what I had in mind.
Upon arriving in Japan and activating my eSIMs, I had an issue with properly activating the data eSIM because I was using the voice & data eSIM settings. They were quick to assist me in finding the correct APN settings via email (from the hotel Wi-Fi). Once properly configured, both the call quality and internet speeds were consistently excellent.
What particularly stood out was Sakura Mobile's ongoing support. I had an issue where I had actually gotten the wrong data plan that they had directed me to before my trip, and as a result, I went over my data limit. After I explained the issue, they went above and beyond my expectations in making things right.
For those planning a trip to Japan and seeking reasonably priced, reliable connectivity, I highly recommend Sakura Mobile. Their outstanding customer service, combined with the convenience of their eSIM products, ensures a stress-free experience during your trip.

Very convenient for the amount of gb they offer! I think 40gb was one of the highest amounts i found while making my research and i also had a Japanese phone number so that I could make local calls. Also the option of an e-sim rather than a physical one was great. Moreover, when I first installed it I realized once I went out for the first time that my internet wasn’t working and luckily I was able to find my way to their office and they were very kind and helpful, considering I got there like 10 minutes before closing time 😅. They have english speaking workers, so I had no problems communicating my problems and they resolved everything in a matter of minutes!

I used Sakura Mobile for both an eSIM (cell service) and pocket wi-fi when I lived in Tokyo for a year. I never had any issues; reliable service and convenient to start and cancel service upon arrival/departure from Japan.

After arriving in Japan for a working holiday visa I tried to get a phone number and data with japanese companies but it would never let me register as I needed a previous Japanese number and I didn't know anyone here. I went with Sakura mobile, everything went smooth and I never had signal or data problem, the esim was easy to install too.

Great rates and great coverage. I have subscribed to Sakura Mobile on both occasions when I lived in Japan. I often had coverage in remote locations when other people did not. I arranged pickup of the SIM card at the airport so I didn't have to waste time.

I used the Sakura mobile pocket wifi for my working term in Japan for the last two years. I found the service to be excellent, from the initial quick delivery of the device, directly to my temporary residence in Japan right through to the end. There was never any issues with the use of the device and I travelled the whole of Japan from the northern most to Okinawa, there was never any coverage issues. The English speaking support was excellent and went along way to help with getting set up with payment schedules ect. I was a great service and would use them again if needed.

Sakura Mobile is by far the best service provider I've ever used. Anytime I needed customer support I had a reply within 24 hours. The tech support team was always helpful and informative and very patient. Being an English speaker and not being able to write or understand Japanese wasn't a problem because they also offered all services in English. When I return to Japan in the future, I will definitely use their services again.

Used for fiber internet service. Installation was fast, easy, and reasonable price. Good service, easy to pay. Website was available in English.
